Majestic
Majestic is the flagship hearth brand of Hearth & Home Technologies and our deepest single lane, with over 400 active SKUs across direct-vent gas fireplaces, gas inserts that retrofit an existing masonry opening, and traditional wood-burning fireplaces. We are an authorized dealer, so every unit ships new with the full factory warranty.
Choosing a Majestic Fireplace
Majestic's range divides three ways, and the split is driven by what your house can physically accommodate.
Direct-vent gas fireplaces
A sealed glass front with a coaxial vent that draws combustion air from outside and exhausts through the same assembly. Because the vent can run horizontally through a wall, these do not need an existing chimney, which is what makes them viable in new construction and in rooms with no masonry. The Echelon II, Meridian, Marquis II, Quartz and Jade series cover traditional through to clean-face modern.
Gas inserts
Designed to retrofit into an existing masonry fireplace, converting an open wood-burning opening into a sealed, controllable gas appliance. The Ruby, Trilliant and Jasper lines cover most standard opening sizes. Measure the opening at its narrowest point before choosing.
Wood-burning fireplaces
The Ashland, Sovereign and Biltmore remain in the range for buyers who want a real wood fire. These need a full chimney system and the venting is a significant part of the total cost. Budget for it from the start.
Before You Order
Gas type is not a setting
Natural gas and propane are ordered as different models. Conversion kits exist for some units but not all, and fitting one is not a user task. Confirm your supply before ordering.
IntelliFire Touch
Most current gas models use IntelliFire Touch electronic ignition, which holds no standing pilot: so it does not burn gas continuously when idle, and can be operated from a wall control or an app. It does require power at the appliance, with battery backup for outages.
Framing and clearances come first
Rough-opening dimensions, clearance to combustibles and vent runs are specified per model in the install manual. On a new build these have to be settled before framing, not after.
Frequently Asked Questions
- What is the best direct vent gas fireplace?
- The one sized and vented for your wall, not a single model. In the Majestic line, the Quartz series is the established mid-range choice, the Meridian adds larger viewing areas, and the Echelon II is the premium linear option. Prices in our Majestic range run from about $1,979 to $10,389 for complete direct vent fireplaces. Start from your framing dimensions and BTU need, then choose the series that fits.
- Can you convert a gas fireplace to electric?
- Yes. The usual route is removing the gas log set and sliding an electric insert or plug-in log set into the existing opening, then capping the gas line, which a plumber or gas fitter should do. There is no venting requirement afterward, since electric units produce no combustion. We carry Dimplex electric inserts and log sets commonly used for exactly this conversion.
- How do you install a direct vent gas fireplace?
- It is a framed-in appliance: the unit is set into a wood-framed enclosure built to the dimensions in its manual, the coaxial vent is run horizontally through an exterior wall or vertically through the roof, and the gas line and any electrical are connected before finishing the surround. Clearances and vent-run limits in the installation manual are safety requirements, so this is a job for a certified installer, but knowing the sequence helps you plan the wall before ordering.
