Cast concrete construction
These are cast from glass fiber reinforced concrete, hand finished, so the surface and color vary slightly piece to piece the way stone does. That is the point of the format rather than a defect. Concrete holds up outdoors through freeze and thaw far better than a thin metal bowl, and it carries the weight that keeps a low, wide vessel stable. Burners are stainless steel throughout. Bowls of this size are heavy, so confirm the weight against a deck or rooftop before ordering.
Propane and natural gas
Every bowl is offered in both fuels as separate SKUs. Propane runs from a concealed tank and keeps the bowl movable, which suits a bowl used as a seasonal centerpiece. Natural gas plumbs in permanently and is the better choice for a bowl that anchors a fixed seating area, because a wide bowl consumes fuel faster than a small table burner. BTU output is published per model so you can judge the heat as well as the look.
Placement
A bowl works differently from a table: there is no rim to set a drink on, so it wants seating arranged around it rather than pulled up to it. Allow clearance on all sides, since the flame is open rather than shielded. Covers are available for most models and are worth buying with the bowl. Every unit carries its manufacturer factory warranty, valid because we are an authorized dealer, and freight is free to the lower 48.
