The parts that finish a fireplace

Most gas fireplaces are sold as a system rather than a finished object. The firebox is one purchase; the burner, the log set, the door or front and the interior liner are chosen separately, and that is what allows the same opening to be finished half a dozen ways. Log sets are refractory, cast from real wood and hand painted, and the ember bed under them is part of the effect. Burner choice sets flame shape and BTU. If you are specifying a fireplace from scratch, read the firebox page and the burner page together rather than in sequence.

Fitment is model specific

Almost nothing here is universal. A door built for one firebox will not fit another, and a liner is cut for a specific opening. Every product page names the models it fits, and that note is the thing to check before ordering rather than the photograph. If you are replacing a part on an older unit, the model number on the rating plate inside the firebox is what identifies it.
