Mounting hardware and floor stands for Dimplex patio heaters, $239 to $429. How a heater is mounted decides how well it works, so this is a specification decision rather than an accessory purchase.

Mounted or freestanding

A wall or ceiling mounted heater puts the heat above head height and out of the traffic path, which is why it is the default for terraces and covered patios. A floor stand does the opposite: it makes the heater portable, so it can follow the seating rather than the seating arranging itself around the heater. Neither is better in the abstract. A fixed terrace wants mounting; a patio whose layout changes through the season wants a stand.

Height is not optional

Minimum mounting heights are published per heater and exist for a reason. Too low and the heat is uncomfortable directly underneath and a hazard to anyone standing; too high and it dissipates before it reaches anyone sitting. Aluminum and stainless construction is used through this range so the hardware survives outdoors alongside the heater it holds.

Check compatibility first

Brackets and stands are made for specific heaters rather than sold universally. The product page names the models each fits, and that is the only thing to go on when ordering.
